Chad Michael Murray Weighs In on Losing Scott Patterson on ‘Sullivan’s Crossing’

The former Hallmark star got real about Patterson’s exit when speaking about the new season of “Sullivan’s Crossing” to Yahoo Canada. Murray was brutally honest with his thoughts on the situation.

“It does happen. And there are various, different things that transpire. You just never know,” the “One Tree Hill” alum expressed, adding, “And so it’s one of those situations where you go, OK well, just look at the show, what is the show? Where does it sit? And how do you hold it up and keep it true to itself? And that’s all on the text and the storytelling.”

Murray knows all too well that casting changes are just part of the nature of working as an actor. However, in the end, he and the rest of the cast and crew are there to do their jobs and create a good show for the fans.

Despite losing Patterson, who Murray worked with on “Gilmore Girls” back in the day, Murray reassured fans that the show stays true to how it has been over the past three seasons.

“The show stays totally true to itself, and Sully is still a big part of it. He still exists in this world, and there’s still that relationship. And he built the Crossing, so it’s always going to be there, and that’s kind of the foundation that the show is built on.”

Patterson spoke out about his exit after news broke, insisting that fans weren’t getting the real story about his departure. Even though “Sullivan’s Crossing” executive producer and showrunner Roma Roth revealed his exit was a storyline dedicated. Patterson debunked that, making it clear it was his choice to leave the series due to behind-the-scenes issues.

There Are New Faces on ‘Sullivan’s Crossing’

Murray lost one cast member but gained a couple more. Hallmark fan favorite Marcus Rosner joined Season 4 of “Sullivan’s Crossing” as Liam, the husband of Cal’s girlfriend Maggie (Morgan Kohan).

Rosner shared a message to fans about joining the series and playing a character who causes major problems for the happy couple, Maggie and Cal. The love triangle plays a key part in the upcoming season.

80s actor Jonathan Silverman, known for roles in “Weekend at Bernie’s” and “Girls Just Want to Have Fun”, will also appear on the new season of “Sullivan’s Crossing.” Silverman has a multi-episode stint playing a disgruntled guest at the Crossing.

“Sullivan’s Crossing” Season airs Sundays on CTV in Canada and will premiere on The CW in the United States on Monday, April 20.
