In typical Derrick Lewis fashion, following his main event win at UFC St Louis. on Saturday, his shorts, gloves, and cup were removed, much to the delight of the fans in attendance.

Derrick Lewis was headlining the UFC’s return to St Louis, off the back of a loss to Jailton Almeida, showing the unfortunate state of the heavyweight division.

His opponent, Rodrigo Nascimento was riding a three-fight win streak but was yet to pick up a win over a ranked heavyweight opponent.

Derrick Lewis scores third-round knockout extending his KO record to 15

‘The Black Beast’ already held the record for the most knockouts in UFC history with 14, but following his third-round finish over the Brazilian, he extended his impressive feat.

The 39-year-old looked to start the fight fast, but ‘Ze Colmeia’ did well to engage Lewis in the clinch where he found some success early on.

Nascimento then decided to showcase his advantage on the ground, where he scored himself a takedown in round one, controlling on top for over two minutes. Despite that, he wasn’t able to land anything damaging, and Lewis did well to get back to his feet on occasions.

The knockout artist, Lewis, then decided to try and return the favor, attempting two takedowns in round two, both of which were stuffed by the 31-year-old Brazilian.

In typical Derrick Lewis fashion, he landed a huge right hand in round three, catching Nascimento clean and dropping him to the ground. Nascimento tried to cling on to the leg of Lewis, but it left him open to some damaging shots behind the ear, that subsequently finished the fight.

As soon as the referee stepped in to stop the fight, the 39-year-old only had one thing on his mind and that was to quickly remove his shorts, and throw his cup into the front row of fans.

Not only did Lewis fully remove his shorts and protective gear, but ‘The Black Beast’ proceeded to pull down what was left of his underwear, mooning his naked body to the crowd, which bizarrely went down well.

In his Octagon interview with Michael Bisping, the number 12 ranked heavyweight admitted that he’s getting ‘old’ and doesn’t know when he wants to step back into the cage, despite not taking any damage.

“I appreciate St. Louis for letting me show my naked ass.” Lewis joked. “Let me sit my ass down for a second, I’m getting too old for this s***.”

During fight week, the former title challenger admitted that he feels like he is only just entering his prime.

“Oh yeah, I’m in my prime, but s*** you didn’t see that s***?” Lewis questioned Michael Bisping. “I got to rethink this s***.”

It is unlikely that the 39-year-old will make another run toward a heavyweight title shot, however, fellow contender Jairzinho Rozenstruik was front row in St. Louis, which could indicate Lewis’ next possible opponent.
