‘Maxton Hall’ Sneak Peek: First Look at Ruby & James’ Romantic First Date

The war is over, RubyJames fans! Maxton Hall delivered some of its angstiest moments yet in the first few episodes of Season 2. At long last, however, we have official confirmation that not only will we get a happy Ruby (Harriet Herbig-Matten) and James (Damian Hardung) in the next one, but they’ll also go on a date!
In Swooon‘s squeal-inducing exclusive preview of Episode 4, which drops tonight, November 13, James woos his girl with a romantic surprise. He holds a blindfolded Ruby close as he leads her through a stunning château. Once they get to a terrace, he pulls the fabric off her eyes. “That’s just for us,” he says as Ruby takes in the view.
It’s an absolutely gorgeous outdoor restaurant, which makes Ruby’s jaw drop. (Glad to see you’re putting that Beaufort money to good use, James!) When a waiter hands the couple two wine glasses, James clinks his against Ruby’s, making them both laugh. Seriously, could they be any more adorable?
“Too cheesy?” he asks as he presses his lips on her cheek. In response, Ruby plants a full kiss on James, assuring him that the setup is perfect. James has pulled out all the stops for his first date with Ruby — as he should after putting her through the wringer over the past few episodes.
It seems James’ grand gesture at the end of Episode 3 has turned the tide for their romance. Finally, all the work James has been doing on himself has paid off, and he’s got the girl… but will it last? Only time will tell. For now, though, we’ll be fixating on our exclusive clip, which you can watch at the top of the page. We need more happy RubyJames, STAT!
