The Last Mrs. Parrish is an upcoming Netflix Original psychological thriller film directed by Robert Zemeckis (Back to the Future, Forrest Gump), based on the novel of the same name written by Liv Constantine. Andrea Berloff and John Gatins wrote the script. Lisa Rubin is also confirmed as part of the writing team.
The film has multiple producers, including Jennifer Lopez, Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas, and Benny Medina for Nuyorican Productions, Molly Sims for Something Happy Productions, and Liza Chasin for 3dot Productions. Included in the list of executive producers are Lynne Constantine, Valerie Constantine, Jack Rapke, Derek Hogue, and Margaret Chernin for 3dot Productions.
What is the plot of The Last Mrs. Parrish?
Netflix has yet to release a logline for the film. However, the synopsis from the book provides plenty of juicy details for the story:
“Amber Patterson is fed up. She’s tired of being a nobody: a plain, invisible woman who blends into the background. She deserves more—a life of money and power like the one blond-haired, blue-eyed goddess Daphne Parrish takes for granted.
To everyone in the exclusive town of Bishops Harbor, Connecticut, Daphne—a socialite and philanthropist—and her real-estate mogul husband, Jackson, are a couple straight out of a fairy tale.
Amber’s envy could eat her alive . . . if she didn’t have a plan. Amber uses Daphne’s compassion and caring to insinuate herself into the family’s life—the first step in a meticulous scheme to undermine her. Before long, Amber is Daphne’s closest confidante, traveling to Europe with the Parrishes and their lovely young daughters, and growing closer to Jackson. At the time of writing, the only confirmed cast member for The Last Mrs. Parrish is Jennifer Lopez, who plays the lead role of Amber Patterson. Lopez is no stranger to Netflix, having starred in a handful of successful originals, such as Atlas, The Mother, and her documentary Jennifer Lopez: Halftime. In addition to The Last Mrs. Parrish, she has another project in the works with Netflix, a rom-com film titled Office Romance.

When is The Last Mrs. Parrish coming to Netflix?
At the time of writing, Netflix has yet to announce a release date for The Last Mrs. Parrish. With filming underway, the earliest we can expect to see the film on Netflix is late 2026 (October-December). However, we wouldn’t be surprised to see it released in early 2027 either.
