Chloe Fineman shocks Saturday Night Live castmates with story

The cast of Saturday Night Live spends a lot of time together, so fans would expect them to know plenty about each other. But a lighthearted game among a few SNL cast members quickly took an unexpected turn when Chloe Fineman revealed a jaw-dropping story.
During a recent video for Vanity Fair, SNL stars Fineman, Mikey Day, Sarah Sherman, James Austin Johnson, Ashley Padilla, and Jane Wickline participated in a “how well do they know each other” game, sharing surprising personal anecdotes. Fineman’s contribution, however, left her SNL castmates audibly stunned and borderline disturbed.
“I was fired as a camp counselor,” Fineman said, before getting into the details. She went on to explain that the incident involved a young camper who had a habit of lifting her shirt during interactions. Frustrated, Fineman (who was 16 at the time) admitted she decided to retaliate during a hike.
According to Fineman, she distracted the child ( identified as a 6-year-old) by pointing out something in the distance, then pulled his pants down as a prank. The situation quickly escalated when it became clear the child wasn’t wearing underwear, leading to an awkward and highly inappropriate moment witnessed by other campers.
Her fellow cast members reacted with disbelief as the story unfolded, with some expressing shock and confusion at the escalating details. Padilla even joked that Fineman may be “on a list” somewhere for the prank.
Fineman attempted to contextualize the moment as misguided retaliation, saying it was “a different time” and that this all happened in Berkeley, California. But the cast wasn’t exactly buying it, with Mikey Day among those who could only look down as they heard what unfolded at Fineman’s camp.
The clip has since gained attention online for its mix of humor and discomfort. Some found the story disturbing and inappropriate. Others defended Fineman, noting her age at the time and the camper’s behavior. Regardless, Fineman felt comfortable enough to share the story and let it make its way to YouTube.
And it’s not the first time a Fineman story divided fans online. She once admitted to using the equivalent of “do you know who I am?” at a restaurant, and the move didn’t exactly go over well with everyone.
Back in the Vanity Fair video, a more appropriate story followed as Fineman tested her colleagues on another event from her teen years. The Saturday Night Live star once made it on to the Late Show with David Letterman, sharing her birdcalling talent with the world.
