Bridgerton Creator To Helm Kim Kardashian’s New Netflix Series, Replacing I. Marlene King

Kim Kardashian’s new Netflix series has a new showrunner and is the brain behind the smash-hit period drama Bridgerton, replacing the original showrunner, Pretty Little Liars creator I. Marlene King.
Calabasas focuses on 16-year-old Midwestern Catholic schoolgirl Via, whose life was turned upside down when her family made a big move, and she was forced to transfer to Calabasas High. Kardashian has been the driving force behind the project and has referred to herself as a big Bridgerton fan, reaching out to Van Dusen.

Bridgerton remains one of Netflix’s top-performing English-language series, and Van Dusen earned an Emmy nomination for an Outstanding Drama Series. Bridgerton is set to release its new season next year, focusing on the character Benedict Bridgerton (played by Luke Thompson) and his love interest Sophie Baek (played by Yerin Ha).
Kardashian has been known as a reality star and influencer for most of her career in the limelight, but most recently has stepped into the world of fictional storytelling. She has most recently starred in Ryan Murphy’s new series All’s Fair, which is set to release on Hulu on November 4. She stars alongside Sarah Paulson, Glenn Close, and Naomi Watts.

She also had a role in another Murphy project alongside fellow executive producer Roberts in Murphy’s anthology series American Horror Story. Kardashian appeared in season 12, playing the role of Siobhan Corbyn, and the role was specifically written for the reality star and fashion mogul.
There are no other details regarding Calabasas, including a release date or cast, but with Van Dusen stepping in, production could be amping up and will hopefully include releasing further details about the series.
