Actress Angelina Jolie‘s extremely thin physique has sparked renewed concerns for her health, with the Salt star’s inner circle worried she “won’t be able to carry on like this” after a shocking red carpet appearance.
The Maleficent actress, 49, had fans deeply concerned when she appeared at the Tony Awards on June 16 in a strapless ruched gown that revealed her extremely thin arms and shoulders.
Observers noted that Jolie‘s gaunt appearance has caused significant alarm among her friends and fans alike.
According to RadarOnline.com, sources close to Jolie are urging her to eat proper meals to maintain her health, especially given her busy schedule as a dedicated mother and working actress.
“She’s looking very thin, almost sickly, and probably doesn’t weigh more than 98 pounds,” an insider observed. “She’s either forgetting or unwilling to eat. Pals are afraid she won’t be able to carry on like this.”
Meanwhile, Florida-based longevity expert Dr. Gabe Mirkin, who has not personally treated the actress, expressed concerns about her health. Dr. Mirkin suggested that Jolie might already have osteoporosis, a condition characterized by brittle bones.
“She has severe loss of body fat, which is almost always associated with severe loss of muscle and bone,” Dr. Mirkin noted. He agreed that the 5-foot-7 beauty likely weighs less than 100 pounds and advised,
“She should check with her doctor, who will order a bone density x-ray. Most likely it will show osteoporosis, and she will be given medication to treat it and instructions on resistance exercise.”
The Impact of Angelina’s Health Battles and Stress
In 2013, Angelina revealed she tested positive for the BRCA1 gene mutation, which increased her risk of developing breast and ovarian cancer, conditions that had affected her mother.
Following this revelation, the Oscar winner underwent a preventative double mastectomy and a full hysterectomy. Dr. Mirkin warned that the related estrogen deprivation could also cause a “rapid acceleration of bone loss.”
Additionally, the ongoing stress from Angelina‘s legal battles with ex-husband Brad Pitt could be contributing to her drastic weight loss.
As reported by RadarOnline.com, Angelina recently lost a legal battle to withhold non-disclosure agreements she signed with a third party, which Pitt demanded she hand over in their dispute over their French winery, Château Miraval.
In May, Judge Lia Martin dismissed Angelina’s objections to Pitt’s request and ruled she must produce every NDA she signed with the third party from 2014 to 2022.
This ongoing legal stress, combined with her health concerns, appears to be taking a significant toll on Jolie‘s physical well-being.
