According to a new report, the Maleficent actress has now cut off any form of communication with Voight following his recent statements about her.

While Angelina Jolie remains one of the most celebrated actresses of her generation, her personal life has been filled with a lot of controversy and problems. The actress’ legal battles with Brad Pitt unfortunately is still going on and both have suffered tremendously emotionally. Jolie also does not share a cordial relationship with her father Jon Voight.

Jolie’s contentious relationship with Voight has been extensively covered by the media over the years as they have not seen eye to eye for quite a while. Voight recently criticized her daughter for being ignorant of being exposed to propaganda and being manipulated by antisemitic people. The actress seems to be pissed with her father openly talking about her in that way (via Variety).

In a new report from In Touch, the actress has now distanced herself from her father as he broke her strict rule about not talking anything about her or her personal life. A source reportedly told the outlet that despite attempts at reconciliation, Voigt’s loose lips have always pushed Jolie further away from him and continues to cause problems between them. The source said,

Despite previous attempts at reconciliation, Jon’s loose lips have pushed Angie to cut off communication once more. He just can’t help himself. Angie has made it very clear she doesn’t want him talking about her private life — but he keeps opening his big mouth!

In addition to Voight’s aforementioned comments about her daughter’s political stance, he has also praised Jolie and her daughter’s recent Tony award win as co-producers on The Outsiders (via TMZ). Unfortunately, the father-daughter duo still have personal problems with each other and aren’t looking at a smooth reconciliation anytime soon. Their relationship sounds worsened according to this new report.

In an interview with Empire Magazine, Eastwood praised Jolie’s individuality as an actress and stated that she feels like a throwback to the women from the 40s. The director further declared that Jolie would have fared very well during that era along with iconic actresses like Katherine Hepburn and Bette Davis. Eastwood said,

To me, it’s like she’s [Jolie] a throwback to the women in film of the ’40s. Not to say the women today aren’t great, but back then there was more individuality, all the faces were different. I think she would have been just as big a name in that era than, the same as Katherine Hepburn and Bette Davis.

Jolie gave one the best performances of her career in the film as she played a grieving mother who would go to any length to find her son. She received an Oscar nomination for Best Actress and Eastwood’s sublime direction made Changeling a memorable feature. Fans can watch the film on Apple TV+.
