Bones, teeth, car key found in search for missing backpacker in Tasmania
More human remains and a car key have been found as police investigate the disappearance of Belgian woman Céline Cremer in the Tasmanian bush.
Cremer, 31, was last seen in Waratah on June 17, 2023, and is believed to have vanished after going on a bushwalk at Philosopher Falls.
Her Honda CRV was found in a parking lot, leading police to believe she got lost on the way back to her car.

A bushwalker discovered human remains police believed are linked to Cremer only last month, sparking a renewed search.
Tasmania Police Commander Nathan Johnston said searchers on Sunday and Monday combed a 350-metre section on the Arthur River.
They located five more bones, two teeth, and a Honda car key.

“Police have today formally verified that the car key belongs to Celine,” he said yesterday.
“The search undertaken over the past two days was thorough and methodical, and many of these items were located beneath debris, embedded in the riverbed itself.”
Search personnel from Tasmania Police, alongside Ambulance Tasmania wilderness paramedics, were winched into the area.

“We are continuing our liaison with Celine’s family to keep them informed as we review the search efforts to date,” Johnston said.
