Blake Lively used derogatory language to insult ‘problematic’ transgender individuals in recently resurfaced interviews

Blake Lively has come under fire yet again for repeatedly using a transgender slur in resurfaced interviews.

The “It Ends With Us” star was called out on social media Sunday when a fan referenced a remark she made about her future children in a 2012 interview with Elle magazine.

“sometimes ill [sic] be quietly going about my day and then ill [sic] remember the time blake lively said this to a journalist,” the user posted on X.

He shared an image of her quote, which read: “I hope to have a few girls one day. If not girls, they better be trannies. Because I have some amazing shoes and bags and stories that need to be appreciated.”

“I hope to have a few girls one day. If not girls, they better be trannies. Because I have some amazing shoes and bags and stories that need to be appreciated,” she told Elle in 2012.

Fans reacted to Lively’s use of the term “tranny,” which has been deemed defamatory by some members of the trans community, according to GLAAD.

“You just blew up the whole smear campaign with this one,” one user commented.

“Not Lady Deadpool…” another person added.

However, others had grace for the “Gossip Girl” alum, while acknowledging she could have articulated herself better.

“I’m actually not mad at this at all. The word was throw [sic] around a lot back in the day. If it was said today it would be problematic, but nothing is wrong w wishing for a trans child,” one user posted.

“I get what she was trying to say because someone better appreciate all that Vintage Versace she has.  But she could’ve used different wording,” a second fan wrote.

Blake LivelyBut the actress had previously used the word in a 2009 interview with Allure while discussing her insecurities on the “Gossip Girl” set.

“I feel like a tranny a lot of the time. I don’t know, I’m… large? They put me in six-inch heels, and I tower over every man,” Lively said at the time.

“I’ve got this long hair and lots of clothes and makeup on. I just feel really big a lot of the time, and I’m surrounded by a lot of tiny people. I feel like a man sometimes.”

In a third example, Lively repeated the word again during a 2008 interview with Nylon alongside Leighton Meester.

The “Simple Favor” star dismissed rumors of a feud with her “Gossip Girl” co-star, saying, “You read the gossip magazines and everybody is dating everyone, everybody hates everyone, everybody’s had tons of plastic surgery and we’re actually men and trannies. You don’t listen to the rumors.”

Reps for Lively did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.

The resurfaced interviews come amid ongoing backlash toward the mom of four, who has been heavily promoting “It Ends With Us” in recent weeks.

In addition to her alleged feud with co-star and director Justin Baldoni, Lively, 36, has been criticized for focusing on her floral fashion and new haircare line, Blake Brown Beauty, largely over the movie’s domestic violence themes.

She has also faced scrutiny for multiple instances of what fans have called “Regina George” behavior, including refusing to wear a bracelet gifted from a fan on the red carpet and giving a “nightmare” 2016 interview that allegedly made a reporter want to quit her job.
