Episode 6 of ‘Bridgerton’ Season 3 ended with Colin discovering that Penelope is Lady Whistledown. Despite the betrayal, he chooses to go ahead with the wedding.
Just when Penelope thinks that her secret is safe with Colin and Eloise Bridgerton (Claudia Jesse), a surprise entry to their wedding breakfast shocks her.
Queen Charlotte (Golda Rosheuvel) arrives and asks everyone except the Bridgertons to leave the venue. She angrily confronts the Bridgerton family as she feels that one of them is Lady Whistledown.
While she repeatedly asks for a confession, Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey) assures her that nobody in his family is writing gossips.
The Queen eventually leaves but remains adamant to unravel the identity of Whistledown.
Who might expose Penelope Featherington’s secret in ‘Bridgerton’ Season 3?
Jessica Madsen as Cressida Cowper in ‘Bridgerton’ (@netflix)
While we almost believe that the Queen will be the one exposing Lady Whistledown, the final moments of the episode suggest otherwise.
Cressida Cowper (Jessica Madsen) runs away from her home as her father wants to send her to Wales to live with Aunt Jo. In need of money, she looks for the publisher who printed her edition.
During her quest, she meets a printer, who tells that Lady Whistledown is a redhead. The episode ends with Cressida asking for further details.
At this point, we can assume that Cressida will finally realize that Penelope is Lady Whistledown. With this information, she could have gone to the Queen and claimed her reward. However, since she has lost her credibility, she will probably blackmail Penelope for money.
This sets the stage for a riveting finale as not only Penelope’s secret is on the brink of exposure but also her marriage with Colin could go downhill.
‘Bridgerton’ Season 3 is available to stream on Netflix
