We saw the first 35 minutes and loved it.
Marvel revealed the first 35 minutes of Deadpool and Wolverine, and viewers are loving it.
We went to the preview screening inside London’s packed Hammersmith Apollo theatre, with stars Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds in attendance. They joined director Shawn Levy on-stage to present the footage and pump up the crowd.
Levy promised big things, saying, “That Marvel logo’s going to coming up, and it’s going to start something that’s new for the MCU. First time with Deadpool, first time with Wolverine, first time with these two co-starring in a movie together.” So what happens in the footage?

Disney, Marvel
We’re not allowed to say. Without spoiling anything, a lot happens. We see more of Deadpool’s birthday party, as shown in the trailer, and get an extended look of both Deadpool and Wolverine cavorting around the TVA in full superhero gear, which we previously knew about thanks to some officially released images. And this is just the stuff we’re allowed to mention.
The stuff we aren’t is unbelievable, and keeps the audience engaged throughout. There are numerous deep cuts from the comics, brilliant call-backs to prior films, and more than a few sardonic swipes at Marvel’s fall-off post-Endgame.

Griff Griffin
The propulsive plot neatly summarizes the convoluted state of the current MCU without saddling you with unnecessary story baggage. If you’ve not kept up with what’s going on in Marvel in 2024, Deadpool and Wolverine will get you back on track, and make you care.
Deadpool and Wolverine is also ridiculously funny. Barely five seconds go by without a gag, prompting the theatre to erupt on more than one occasion (the montage of Deadpool suiting up gets one of the biggest laughs of the night). If the first 35 minutes are anything to go by, this is easily the funniest film in Marvel history, bar none.
Get hyped, Marvel Jesus has risen.
