Persistent rumors about Deadpool & Wolverine featuring a Taylor Swift cameo are seemingly “Evermore” despite claims the Grammy-winning singer won’t appear. Co-star Ryan Reynolds fans the proverbial flames with a tease hinting at her involvement.

On his Instagram story, Reynolds posted a photo of his “Merc With a Mouth” sporting a familiar pose, with his back turned looking into a forest. The pose replicated the cover of Swift’s 2020 studio album, “Evermore,” with Reynolds adding the LP’s title track featuring Bon Iver as background music for the image. Reynolds’ post comes amid spoilers emanating from a Deadpool & Wolverine screening in China making the rounds online, putting speculation about the Marvel Cinematic Universe blockbuster into overdrive.

Reports about Swift’s cameo in Deadpool & Wolverine have been conflicting. Despite most outlets insisting Swift will feature in an undisclosed role in the Phase Five MCU tentpole, Entertainment Weekly recently reported Swift wouldn’t appear, with sources close to the situation issuing denials. However, Marvel has been known to deny appearances of major stars in past films, only for them to feature, as the studio likes to keep critics/audiences guessing and maintain some level of surprise.

Swift has been linked to multiple roles for her potential cameo, including Dazzler, Lady Deadpool and The Blonde Phantom. The pop singer also seemingly hinted at a Deadpool & Wolverine appearance on her latest album, “The Tortured Poets Department.” Reynolds and director Shawn Levy have been teasing Swift’s involvement for months, with neither man confirming nor denying her potential cameo.

Along with the Swift hints, Deadpool & Wolverine has been stepping up its promotional material to invest fans in the long MCU big-screen release this year. The team-up film’s latest teaser confirmed the feature of a major X-Men villain as it will introduce several affiliates and adversaries of the popular mutant group as its presence increases throughout the MCU.
