Season 4 explored the Cinderella- style love story between Benedict Bridgerton (Luke Thompson) and Sophie Baek (Yerin Ha)
The season finale ended with a sneaky post-credits scene that wrapped up the season and offered hints about who season 5

Did you catch the post-credits scene at the end of Bridgerton season 4?

In a first for the hit Netflix series, the season ended without a wedding — that is, until, the credits rolled. If viewers waited until the very end, that’s when Sophie and Benedict finally tied the knot.

The surprise scene began with Benedict (Luke Thompson) standing at the end of the aisle before the outdoor ceremony at My Cottage began. His older brother, Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey) was by his side and told him to “never listen to me again.” He applauded Benedict’s bravery in following his heart. “Father would be so proud of you,” Anthony told Benedict. “I know I am.”

As the family waited for Sophie (Yerin Ha) to walk down the aisle, they chatted amongst themselves — and possibly offered a hint at which family member will be the focus of Bridgerton season 5.

“Whose wedding do you think we will be attending next?” Kate (Simone Ashley) asked, and Eloise (Claudia Jessie) shocked everyone by saying, “Oh, I do love a wedding. All the best people in the same place.”

After seeing how shocked Francesca (Hannah Dodd), Penelope (Nicola Coughlan), Kate and her mom (Ruth Gemmell) were at Eloise’s admission, she clarified that she loves weddings “as an attendee.”

Penelope then asked Francesca if she’d ever consider getting married again, but the loss of her husband, John (Victor Alli), remained too fresh. “I have had my great love. One time is enough,” she said, notably still wearing all black.

The conversation was interrupted as Sophie emerged in white, with Alfie (David Moorst) on her arm. As she walked down the aisle, all of her loved ones were there for her big day, including her former coworkers, Footman John (Oli Higginson), Irma (Fiona Marr), Mrs. Wilson (Geraldine Alexander) and Celia (Sophie Lamont).

The Crabtrees were also in attendance, and Hazel (Gracie McGonigal) was Sophie’s maid of honor. In the front row was her sister, Posy (Isabella Wei), who attended with her husband-to-be.

The post-credits scene ended with Benedict kissing Sophie as the camera panned inside My Cottage, where a beautiful painting of Sophie as the Lady in Silver — courtesy of Benedict — was hanging.

Showrunner Jess Brownell already confirmed that the next two seasons will follow the sisters, though it hasn’t been confirmed who will be up first. If the show follows the order of Julia Quinn’s book series, it’ll be Eloise, whose story is explored in To Sir Phillip, With Love.

Executive producer Shonda Rhimes confirmed in October that the writer’s room was underway on season 5, which she teased is a “really sexy season” on Sirius XM.

“But then again, I say that about season 4,” she said. “They’re just sexy in different ways, and I think that’s what’s great.”

Bridgerton season 4 is now streaming.
