It’s been 19 years since the Yule Ball but it seems Ron Weasely has still not asked Padma Patil for a dance. Actors Rupert Grint and Afshan Azad, who played Ron and Padma in the Harry Potter films, had a sweet reunion recently. Potter fans would recall how Ron had asked Padma to the Yule Ball in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, but the date was unsuccessful as Ron refused to dance with Padma.

19 years since the film came out, the two actors met up recently, and Afshan even shared a sweet post on Instagram. Afshan shared a side-by-side look at the two actors from the film and how they look now.

In the post, Grant and Azad smile at the camera, while the next picture reveals how they looked when they were featured in Goblet of Fire. Azad reflected that “parenthood has changed us,” while teasing that Grint again failed to ask her to dance after 19 years of waiting.

“Padma & Ron reunited after 20+ years. Oh how parenthood has changed us all 🥲⚡️ ps He’s still not asked me to dance 🙄” wrote Afshan in the caption.

Will the Harry Potter cast reunite in the near future?

The final Harry Potter film – Deathly Hallow Part 2 released in 2011. Since then, quite a few cast members, including Grint, Danielle Radcliffe and Emma Watson, reunited for a special show in 2022 to take part in the 20th Anniversary of the Harry Potter film franchise.

It was released in 2022 on New Year’s Day and explored the way that the cast connected with their characters. Grint, in particular, emphasized that he never knew where Ron ended and he began, leaving him on unsure footing after the franchise concluded.

Interestingly, the actors are now approximately the age that they were shown in the Harry Potter epilogue at the end of Deathly Hallows.

If ever The Cursed Child is developed into a film, Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Grint could reunite to usher in the next generation of wizards. Grint has already spoken about his willingness to return, stating that he would love to, “if the timing was right.”

Meanwhile, in June 2023, Warner Bros announced that they were working on a web series on Harry Potter – which is a best-selling book series by JK Rowling. The cast and director’s names have not been revealed. It is also unclear if the original cast from the film would appear in any which way in the series.
