British royal family news shows that Zara Tindall is Princess Anne’s daughter and as such she seems to have inherited her mother’s famous wit and forthrightness. Word is that the former Olympic equestrian shaded Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s over the top 2018 royal wedding soon after the nuptials.
According to OK! Zara told her cousin Princess Eugenie that her ceremony to liquor rep Jack Brooksbank was much more lively than the somber tone at the Markle affair.
Royal Family News – Meghan & Harry Had A Quiet Ceremony
According to one photographer at the Markle wedding, the bride and groom were less than cordial on their big day. Arthur Edwards was on duty with his camera and he had a lot to say about the shindig.
“I was there I hated the day, it was a miserable day” Edwards said. “I can tell you now it was the worst royal engagement I ever did, the worst royal wedding I ever did because Harry was determined to keep the newspapers away from it as much as possible.”
He added that “Everything was done on long lenses. It was hopeless. And when they went past in the carriage, they turned away from me.”
Royal Family News – Meghan And Harry Slammed For Rudeness
One of Harry and Meghan’s hobbies is suing the media so their alleged rudeness shouldn’t come as a surprise. But couldn’t they have been more gracious to the professionals tasked with reporting on their wedding?
Edwards said “I felt it was deliberate, with the British press, in many ways they were badly treated Harry was angry at us about things said about Meghan. Some of the things were pretty harsh. Some were pretty unfair. He was angry and I felt we were punished for that.”
Meghan herself spoke of her big day in the contentious 2021 Oprah Winfrey interview in which she claimed that the Archbishop of Canterbury broke his vows for her.
“It was like having an out-of-body experience I was very present for” said the duchess. “The night before, I slept through the night entirely, which is a bit of a miracle, and then woke up and started listening to “Going To The Chapel” to make it fun and light and remind ourselves this was our day. We were both aware in advance of that this wasn’t our day, this was the day planned for the world.” Since the lavish event was paid for by the public it was a shared day after all.
Royal Family News – Meghan’s Sugary Wedding Speech
Meghan’s cringe speech that day is one for the books: “Let’s call this a modern fairytale. Once upon a time, there was a girl from L.A. Some people called her ‘an actress. And there was a guy from London. Some people called him ‘a prince.’ All of those people didn’t fully get it. Because this is the love story of a boy and a girl who were meant to be together.”
But wait, there’s more! Meghan prattled on to what we assume were utterly gobsmacked guests: “And after a month of long-distance courtship, they settle into the quiet of Botswana. And amidst whatever momentary worries that creep in, they look at each other and think, whatever world we’re in. They would love and garden and travel and laugh, and rack up more air miles than any couple could have.” That last part is too true.
Meghan concluded “And when the tides were rough, they squeezed each other tighter. ‘Nothing can break us,’ they’d say. ‘For this love, she was a fighter.”
