The Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) has released more information on the school bus crash that left two middle school students dead on Friday.

THP reports that multiple individuals remain hospitalized after the crash involving a school bus that was carrying 24 students, four adults and the driver.

Two students were killed in the crash, who were identified by loved ones as Zoe Davis and Arianna Pearson.

THP’s Critical Incident Response Team and Pupil Transportation Division are investigating the crash. The CIRT team is continuing to gather witness statements, collect evidence and reconstruct the crash.

THP has sent chaplains and peer support groups to assist affected families and communities. Support services remain in place for students, families and staff affected by this deadly crash.

“Patients were transported to area hospitals for treatment. As of this update, multiple individuals remain hospitalized,” THP said.

“Nine medical helicopters were summoned to the scene, with seven completing flights to appropriate trauma centers in Memphis and Nashville. Ground ambulances transported additional patients to local hospitals.”
