Sidemen member and Twitch streamer Simon “Miniminter” revealed that the popular UK-based YouTube group were in for one of their biggest collaborations with popular rapper Marshall Mathers aka Eminem. However, the collaboration didn’t quite materialize. Sidemen is one of the UK’s biggest content creation groups, and they have previously collaborated with some major names.
During the latest episode of the What’s Good Podcast (August 28, 2024), co-hosted by Miniminter and Randolph, the former recounted that the group was only a “day or two away” from having the dream collaboration with the rap superstar. Simon revealed:
“I don’t know if (I can say this), I think I can say it. Basically, a while back we had the potential to do a video with Eminem. It was literally, like a day or two away from happening – 80% but it fell through.”
The exact reason the collaboration never materialized is unclear. However, given that both Eminem and the Sidemen members have extremely busy schedules, it’s understandable why it might not have gone as planned.
Miniminter explains how W2S and Vikkstar123 tricked Sidemen into thinking Eminem was coming in a video
The latest Sidemen Sunday, titled SIDEMEN COME DINE WITH ME (2024 EDITION), featured a segment toward the end where the two hosts Harry “W2S” and Vikram “Vikkstar123” prepared a dinner with an M&M-themed style costume and set up.
Given the theme, specific scheduling for this shoot, and the group’s previous opportunity to collaborate with Eminem, the Sidemen members (Miniminter, JJ “KSI,” Ethan “Behzinga” and Tobi “TBJZL”) thought they might actually see the rapper. Explaining the situation, Miniminter said:
“They (W2S and Vikkstar123) were wearing M&M costumes, they serve us Spaghetti. I looked at Ethan (Behzinga) and said, ‘They served us Mum’s Spaghetti’ and Ethan is like, ‘Yeah, Eminem’s here, that’s why we have to be here this time.’ We all decided that this must be the Eminem shoot.”
However, the bubble quickly burst when the hosts (W2S and Vikkstar123) pranked the group by initially announcing 50 Cent, only to reveal a cosplayer named 50 Pence. Watch the hilarious moment here:
