Will ‘Wednesday’ return for Season 3? Here’s what we know so far
Lady Gaga did not make an appearance in the first four episodes of Season 2 of Netflix’s “Wednesday,” but the season’s first villain was unmasked in a shocking and juicy twist that had audiences looking forward to the second half of the season.
The new season sets Wednesday Addams (Jenna Ortega) on a quest to find whoever is threatening the life of her roommate Enid Sinclair (Emma Myers), and murdering people near the campus of Nevermore Academy with the help of a murder of crows. Wednesday suspects that the mystery all revolves around the ominous Willow Hill Psychiatric Facility, an asylum for Outcasts (aka people with supernatural abilities) that currently houses none other than Season 1 villain and secret metamorphizing “Hyde,” Tyler Galpin (Hunter Doohan).
According to Netflix, Wednesday, in Season 2 “returns to prowl the Gothic halls of Nevermore Academy, where fresh foes and woes await.”
“Wednesday must navigate family, friends and old adversaries, propelling her into another year of delightfully dark and kooky mayhem,” the streamer says.
As viewers wait for Part 2 of “Wednesday,” to drop on Sept. 3, here’s what to know about the future of the show and if it will be returning for Season 3.
Will there be a Season 3 of ‘Wednesday’?
Yes. Netflix announced Aug. 20 that “Wednesday” will return for Season 3 with Jenna Ortega as the “titular antihero.”
Series co-creator and co-showrunner Miles Millar told Netflix’s Tudum they “want to continue digging deeper into our characters while expanding the world of Nevermore and Wednesday.”
“We will be seeing more Addams Family members and learning more family secrets in Season 3,” Millar added.
“Wednesday” co-creator and showrunner Alfred Gough, meanwhile, said the “goal for Season 3 is the same as it is for every season: to make it the best season of ‘Wednesday’ we possibly can.”
The first season of Wednesday remains the most-viewed English-language series on Netflix of all time, the streamer said.
Does ‘Wednesday’ Season 3 have a release date?
Netflix has not yet announced a release date for Season 3 of “Wednesday.”
Season 2 came a little less than three years after Season 1, which premiered in November 2022.
