Each day, we inch closer to Emily in Paris season 4 becoming a reality on our watch lists, but as of April 2024, the cast and crew are still hard at work filming the upcoming new season. Although rumors this month suggested that filming on all of season 4 had wrapped, Lily Collins took to Instagram to set the record straight on the production status.
On April 24, Collins shared a photo of herself on her Instagram Story. In the photo, the actress and producer sits in the hair and makeup chair getting some iconic Emily Cooper looks applied. The caption of her post reads, “Last day of season 4 filming in Paris!” With production wrapped in its titular location, it’s time for the homestretch to take place in Italy.
Emily in Paris season 4 production heads to Rome!
As Collins previously announced during Netflix’s TUDUM event in 2023, part of Emily in Paris season 4 will take place and be filmed in Rome, Italy. Now that all of the episodes of season 4 that are set in Paris have been filmed, it’s time for Emily to take on Italy. In a followup post from her Paris wrap announcement, Collins then posted, “Rome… Here we come!”
It’s unclear how many episodes of season 4 will actually be filmed in Rome or at what point of the season the Italy storyline will take place. Just because it’s seemingly the last bit of season 4 to be shot, that doesn’t necessarily mean that Emily’s Roman holiday will be the season finale. It’s also unclear how many cast members will be joining Emily in Rome, but we’ll have to keep counting on Collins for updates!
Thanks to Ashley Park’s own Instagram Story updates, we know for sure that Mindy will be making the trip to Rome with her bestie. Park posted a video on Friday, April 26 celebrating with her hair and makeup team while listening to “Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! (A Man After Midnight)” by ABBA. She captioned the video, “That’s a wrap in Paris… Now off to Rome.”
Presumably, season 4 production in Rome will be the last of the filming cycle, which will likely bring filming to a full wrap potentially sometime in May. From there, the episodes will go into post-production, including editing, dubbing, voiceovers, and other aspects that make the show great. Based on the latest updates, season 4 is still on track for release by the end of the year.
