Netflix’s new action-packed science fiction thriller has been dubbed one of the best films of the year just a few days after its release.

Although reviews from official critics have been mixed, receiving a 68 percent score on Rotten Tomatoes, the exhilarating and gritty blockbuster has garnered a passionate contingent of loyal fans.

Even more impressive, it has leapt to the top of the streaming service’s top ten chart for films just a few days after its release on Friday, 6th March.

Featuring a stellar cast, Reacher’s Alan Ritchson leads the ensemble as an unnamed Staff Sergeant who must lead a group of boot camp recruits against a terrifying alien threat.

“Love this movie and how everything is portrayed, the cast and the whole action packed thrill, had me on my seat and shouting, I wish it was a series or I hope there’s [a] sequel coming after this, cause I can not keep my cool right now. I am going to rewatch it again tomorrow. Damn this was beautiful!”

“Best action movie of 2026 so far,” someone else declared in their bold 10/10 write-up. “Alan did such an amazing job playing the role he is really the perfect guy they could’ve cast, ending was incredible.

“Just watch and have fun I promise you, you WILL have fun it got so many intense parts that you can’t keep your eyes off the screen, truly enjoyed every single minute of this movie, not too long as well just under two hours, perfect for a last night binge with some popcorn.”

War Machine’s director Patrick Hughes is also known for The Hitman’s Bodyguard and its sequel, The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard. He’s also in production on a highly anticipated Hollywood remake of Gareth Evans’ The Raid as well as an untitled Navy SEAL movie for Amazon MGM.
