Jessi Pierce’s Husband, Mike Hinrichs Was Missing In Last Family Outing Before Her And 3 Kids’ Death
Jessi Pierce and her kids were out, and about just a day before their tragic demise; however, her husband, Mike Hinrichs, wasn’t part of the family outing.

NHL reporter and Minnesota Wild correspondent, Jessi Pierce tragically died in a house fire in White Bear Lake, Minnesota, on March 21, 2026. She was just 37 years old at the time of her passing. The blazing fire also claimed the lives of her three young children, Hudson (8 years old), Cayden (6years old), and Avery (4 years old), and their pet dog. As the details of the tragic incident surfaced, Jessi’s loved ones expressed shock and grief at her and her family members’ untimely passing. Meanwhile, glimpses from their last family outing have surfaced, but her husband, Mike Hinrichs, was missing from the pictures.
Jessi Pierce and her kids enjoyed a fun outing just a day before their death
On March 20, 2026, Jessi Pierce took her children to the seasonal opening of Cup and Cone, a local ice cream stand in White Bear Lake. She shared photos from the day out on X (formerly Twitter) with the caption “Bag(s) secured.” It became Jessi’s final post before her and her kids’ tragic passing. The photos captured the kids smiling as they ate sprinkle-covered ice cream and a sub sandwich. Following the demise of the mom and the four kids, netizens have been revisiting the post, and over a hundred people have retweeted it for her final happy moments with her kids to reach the people who have been mourning their loss.

Observers noted small, everyday signs of a fun day, such as Jessi’s daughter’s dirt-scuffed leggings and mismatched socks. However, according to some people, there was a tragic angle to it. They noted that Jessie’s husband, Mike Hinrichs missed being a part of the last outing with his family for whatever reason. In a turn of fate, Jessie and her kids died the very next day, and Mike wasn’t present with them at that time.

How did Jessi Pierce and her children die?
According to the statement from the White Bear Lake Fire Department, a fire broke out at Jessie’s family home in White Bear Lake, Minnesota, early morning of March 21 2026. Emergency responders from the White Bear Lake Fire Department received calls from neighbours at around 5:25 a.m. after they reported seeing smoke and flames breaking through the roof of the residence on Richard Avenue. Upon arrival, firefighters found the residential building “fully involved” and engulfed in flames. Despite efforts to put the fire out, Jessie and her three children had already succumbed to the flames by the time they were discovered.

The four bodies of Jessi and her kids were recovered from inside the home in a charred state, and all were pronounced dead at the scene. Several neighbours reported witnessing the fire spread across the property while the family was still inside. Officials have not yet released detailed findings on the cause of the fire, and they are still investigating the case. Jessie Pierce’s husband, Mike Hinrichs, is the sole surviving member of the family as he was not present at the house when the mishap occurred. Following Jessie’s demise, the NHL family shared their condolences, stating:
“The entire National Hockey League family sends our prayers and deepest condolences to the Pierce family on the passing of Jessi Pierce and her three young children,” the league said in a statement. “Jessi loved our game and was a valued member of the NHL.com team for a decade. We will miss her terribly.”

Besides the NFL representatives, the Fire Chief, Greg Peterson also expressed condolences on behalf of the community. Sharing his grief in a statement and asking for support from one another, he wrote:
“Our hearts ache for all those involved in this tragedy. We ask for the opportunity to allow our community to come together and support one another during this difficult time.”

Rest in peace, Jessi Pierce, Hudson, Cayden and Avery.
