EVERYONE’S SAYING THE SAME THING… 👀 Speculation is swirling around Kelly Osbourne, but someone who says they’ve been close to her claims the public narrative is missing a key piece. According to the insider, what’s really happening behind the scenes is far more personal — and one recent moment explains the shift people are noticing 👇

Everyone’s saying the same thing about Kelly Osbourne – but I know what’s REALLY going on after being pals…

WHEN Kelly Osbourne supported her mum Sharon as she collected the lifetime achievement award on her dad Ozzy Osbourne’s behalf at Saturday’s Brit Awards in Manchester, social media was awash with people commenting on her stature – but they don’t really know what’s going on.

She shared online: “Public grief is not public property. Grief can change a person. That doesn’t make their body a topic for debate. Before you comment on someone’s body, consider the possibility that they are carrying something heavier than your opinion.

“It takes real strength to stand in the public eye, accepting accolades for their late iconic father and hold themselves together in front of the world. The least we can do is show the same grace in return.”

And grace is certainly something that has been lacking in the discourse around Kelly’s appearance.

There is no denying the 41-year-old has lost a lot of weight. When I first met the mother-of-one in 2007, I was a young assistant producer, and she was the new presenter of The Surgery.

People would joke we were like twins – both called Kelly, both a bit curvy, and both enjoyed a night out – there were obvious similarities.

Now, nearly 20 years later, we couldn’t look more different. I chatted to her before Christmas at Juliet Sear’s Silverwood baking range launch at Fortnum & Mason, reminiscing about the old days when we were all a lot more carefree. But also something else we have in common – grief.

I lost my partner two-and-a-half years ago, and she is in mourning for her beloved dad, the Black Sabbath legend, who died on July 22, at the age of 76.

We shared how difficult it is, and only once you’ve gone through it can you really understand it.

At the time, she looked tiny, and I’ll admit I was shocked when I saw her at last Saturday’s Brits that she had lost even more weight.

But it is not my place to bring that up with her – in fact, the only thing I said about how she looked was to compliment her new blonde hair, although she admitted she “missed her purple hair,” adding that she was trying to hold it together as she was “terrified of crying” when she collected her award.

I left her slightly bemused by admitting that I had illicit thoughts about Harry Styles just before he took to the stage.

I urged her to look after herself, but I didn’t say anything about her weight because what I do know is a random person commenting on your appearance is never going to be helpful.

I am sure she is well aware she is too thin, but she is so clearly in pain over losing her dad.

Sadly, the internet did not have the same attitude as me and there was such an outcry that Kelly herself had to make a statement to those bashing her appearance.

She posted on social media: “This is a special kind of cruelty in harming someone who is clearly going through something, kicking me while I’m down, doubting my pain, spreading my struggles as gossip, and turning your back when I need support and love most.

“None of it proves strength; it only reveals a profound absence of compassion and character,” she continued.

“I’m currently going through the hardest time of my life. I should not even have to defend myself. But I won’t sit here and allow myself to be dehumanized in such a way!”

Last week, Kelly had a similar response to harsh comments surrounding her body.

“Literally can’t believe how disgusting some human beings truly are,” she shared over a screenshot of an Instagram comment where one user wrote, “Looks like a dead body… she’s tooooo thin and fragile.… Looks like she’s going to see her dad soon.”

Kelly finished her statement on Tuesday by saying: “Kindness costs nothing. Cruelty costs character. If you have the energy to comment, you have the energy to be kind. Choose accordingly.”

Perhaps those on the internet could leave Kelly in peace and show her kindness to deal with her pain privately.

I know that’s what she would really want.
