CONFIRMED: A Yellowstone star’s absence from the spinoff Marshals is turning heads after she did not attend the premiere 👀🔥 Fans were quick to notice the missing face on the red carpet, fueling speculation about her role — or lack of one — in the expanding universe. While no official statement has clarified the situation, the no-show is speaking volumes… and it could signal a major shift in the franchise’s future

Yellowstone star’s absence from spinoff Marshals is CONFIRMED as she doesn’t attend premiere

There is another very strong hint that a Yellowstone cast member has not made it into the new spinoff show Marshals, which will debut on March 1.

On Tuesday evening Kelsey Asbille, 34, was not seen at the Los Angeles premiere for the new series.

The splashy event was held at Autry Museum of the American West.

Asbille starred on Yellowstone as Monica Dutton, the wife of Kayce Dutton who is played by Luke Grimes.

Grimes, however, was at the premiere as he is the main star of Marshals. Also present was 17-year-old Brecken Merrill, who portrayed Kayce and Monica’s son Tate Dutton on Yellowstone.

The former child star looked much older than he did when he was on the hit series, which ended with its fifth season in December 2024.

The trailer for Marshals also signaled that Asbille is not on the show.

A sheet was seen being placed over a body in Kayce’s bed in the January clip. Later, Kayce is seen lying there, with the spot next to him empty.

In a voiceover, Kayce is heard saying that the only thing that meant anything to him was taken away.

Some fans were furious at the move: ‘They did Monica dirty! How can they kill her off like that?’ said one fan on Reddit, while another chimed in, ‘No love for poor Monica, sad.’

Also in the clip, some of his female Marshal coworkers seem to fancy Kayce, which hints at a new romance.

Asbille may show up in flashback shots, however. The network has yet to confirm anything.

The spinoff, which will debut on March 1, is centered around an elite team of US Marshals in Montana.

This tough group takes on gang members, the cartels and even Grizzly bears.

Gil Birmingham is returning as Broken Rock Reservation chief Thomas Rainwater.

He is seen in an earlier trailer telling Kayce that all the Duttons are born killers, but that Kayce is different because he is a ‘protector.’

The show also brings back Mo Brings Plenty as Mo.

American Horror Story star Ash Santos, Killers of the Flower Moon actor Tatanka Means and The Vampire Diaries alumna Arielle Kebbel have also been cast.

They are joining the program as series regulars, playing Kayce’s fellow US Marshals, respectively called Andrea, Miles and Belle.

Meanwhile, Brett Cullen, who played Batman’s father Thomas Wayne in Joker, will recur as the Montana head of the US Marshals, Harry Gifford.

Marshals: A Yellowstone Story will also feature Logan Marshall-Green, whose casting as Kayce’s old military buddy Pete Calvin was announced last year.

The show’s logline says Kayce will attempt to ‘bring range justice to Montana, where he and his teammates must balance family, duty and the high psychological cost that comes with serving as the last line of defense in the region’s war on violence.’

Grimes starred throughout the hugely successful five-season run of Yellowstone as Kayce Dutton, one of the family of ranchers at the center of the story.

Grimes became a household name on the smash hit series playing Kayce Dutton, the son of Kevin Costner’s rancher patriarch, John Dutton

Kevin Costner left the show after filming only the first half of season five, prompting his character, John Dutton, to be killed off in a murder-for-hire plot.

His departure came under a cloud of rumors that he feuded with Taylor Sheridan, though he evidently ultimately left the show over scheduling conflicts with his own four-part Western movie Horizon, which he directed, starred in and co-wrote.

Horizon, a decades-long passion project that Costner poured over $38 million of his own money into, debuted its first part last year to dismal box office results.
