Jane Seymour recently made a bold declaration about aging at 74.
During an interview with Hello! magazine in late October, the Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman star and former Bond girl opened up about getting older and finding love later in life.
“I honestly never thought I would find a really committed, healthy, lovely, loving relationship at this time of my life, but I’m incredibly blessed that I have,” Seymour told the publication. “70 is the new 50.”
The actress is currently dating John Zambetti, 76, an emergency room doctor and musician. They met two years ago after their children introduced them.
“You’ve had a life. Many lives. And children, and grandchildren, and careers, and ups and downs. You know what you want,” Seymour said of dating in her 70s. “I consider both of us so fortunate to have found each other at the time we have, because it wouldn’t have ever worked earlier.”

The Live and Let Die star continued, “He had a different life — his world was medicine and touring, and mine was running around the world making movies. I think we met each other at exactly the right time.”
So far, Seymour has been married four times. The actress said “I do” to Michael Attenborough in 1971 before they split in 1973. She was then married to Geoffrey Planer from 1978 to 1979.
In 1981, Seymour married David Flynn; she became a stepmom to his daughter, Jenni Flynn. She and David welcomed two children, Katherine Flynn and Sean Flynn, before divorcing in 1992. Seymour married James Keach in 1993; she became a stepmom to his son, Kalen Keach. She and James welcomed twin boys, John and Kristopher, before divorcing in 2015.
Meanwhile, Zambetti has two kids from his previous 43-year marriage.
Seymour also shared refreshing thoughts on aging during an October 2023 sit-down with Hello! magazine.
“The world is against aging,” she pointed out. “We hate aging. We look at aging and we go, ‘Oh, no, there’s a wrinkle, oh my God. Get rid of it. Gray hair. No. Terrifying!’ Whereas you can look at it the other way and you can say actually, I now have time in my life to do things I really want to do. Maybe I can now become the person I want to be.”
Currently, Seymour stars in the TV series Harry Wild.
