EXCLUSIVE: Netflix is banking more Old Money. The Turkish drama has been a streaming hit, nestling in Netflix’s top international series charts, and it has now greenlit Season 2.
The series follows Osman (Engin Akyürek), a self-made tycoon, and Nihal (Aslı Enver), who was born into a prestigious and wealthy family. They must navigate romance in the shadows of wealth and power, highlighting a clash between new money and old money.
The first season launched on October 10. It quickly found favor with Netflix subs, reaching the number two spot in its ranking of most popular non-English-language series globally. It went on to enjoy several weeks in the top-ten, so the sophomore run is both unsurprising and eagerly anticipated.
Turkish producer Tims&B makes the series and had said it was developing a new season, but there was no word from Netflix. While it has still not issued an announcement, we understand Old Money Season 2 is officially a go at the streamer.
Alongside its leads Akyürek and Enver, the Old Money Season 1 cast includes Dolunay Soysert, İsmail Demirci, Serkan Altunorak, Taro Emir Tekin, Selin Şekerci, Sedef Avcı, Zeynep Oymak, Armağan Oğuz and Ahmet Utlu. The first season was written by Meriç Acemi and directed by Uluç Bayraktar.
There is no word on plot or cast for Season 2 of Old Money, but we hear production is set for 2026. Turkish drama is incredibly popular around the world with shows from Tims&B and others selling notably well into Latin America, the Middle East, and Central and Eastern Europe. The Turkish distributors have a huge presence at the big TV markets and have been making headway with sales into Western Europe.
