Emma Myers is revealing how she found out Lady Gaga was appearing on Wednesday, and why she was counting down the days to her arrival on set.

The Minecraft Movie actress, who plays Enid Sinclair in the Netflix series, caught up with PEOPLE at the Wednesday Graveyard Gala in New York City on Thursday, Aug. 28, when she detailed what it was like to discover Gaga, 39, would be joining the cast for its long-awaited second season.

“I think it was during filming season 2. I think one day, somebody mentioned it and I was like, ‘What?’ And they were like, ‘Oh, you didn’t know?’ I was like, ‘No, I didn’t know,'” Myers, 23, says. “I thought somebody would’ve told me something that big. It was kind of out of nowhere.”

As Myers explains, she was “so excited” for Gaga to arrive. “The entire time I was like, ‘OK, 10 more days until she gets here,'” adds the actress, whose favorite Gaga song is “Born This Way.”

The Wednesday cast announced Gaga’s guest-starring role during the streamer’s Tudum 2025 live event in May — an announcement that came after Gaga’s Born This Way track “Bloody Mary” famously soundtracked a scene from season 1.

Netflix later confirmed that Gaga wouldn’t make her Wednesday debut until the second batch of episodes arrives, as season 2 was split with its first four episodes dropping on Aug. 6 and its second now arriving on Wednesday, Sept. 3.

In the role, Gaga will be taking her talents to Nevermore Academy, where she portrays Rosaline Rotwood, a “legendary” teacher who “crosses paths” with the show’s titular character Wednesday Adams, played by Jenna Ortega, per Netflix.

While a trailer for season 2 part 2 indeed featured an eerie voiceover from Gaga’s character, fans can now officially see all that Rosaline has to offer with the arrival of the last four episodes.

Speaking with Tudum.com about her collaboration for season 2, Gaga recalled initially being asked if she had a song in mind for one scene in particular. From there, her involvement turned into a gig on the show itself.

“I immediately had a song in mind called ‘The Dead Dance,’ and I had started working on it. But once I knew it was going to be for Wednesday, I decided that I was going to work on it even more and I made it extra special for the show,” she said. “To me, when you know that music and pop culture and Tim Burton all come together with this cast, that’s a very special recipe. So that’s why I’m here.”

“After that happened, they asked me if I wanted to be on the show, and I said, ‘Absolutely,'” she added.

Ortega, 22, told PEOPLE recently that she too was surprised by Gaga’s role in the series. “I had no idea,” she said.

“I think I found out maybe the night before and we didn’t know, we didn’t have time to rehearse or understand anything,” Ortega shared. “It was just something that Gaga had reached out, and she just called me. So it was very exciting. [She’s] one of the greatest performers, dare I say of all time.”

Added Ortega, “She’s such a legend and such a powerhouse. Just an incomparable force. So to be able to sit at a dinner table and do nothing and watch her up close — what a gift.”
