Bridgerton star Nicola Coughlan brought the period drama to the show’s press tour as she wore a regency-style Sleeper dress – and you can now save £150 on her exact outfit

We’re sure by now you’re well into a Bridgerton binge-watch after the third season finally landed on Netflix earlier this month, and if the new season has got you wishing you could bring a little of that period drama to your everyday life, we might just have the solution for you. Regencycore is back with a bang, and your wardrobe is one of the easiest ways to give a little nod to the show’s vibe.

One person who knows this better than anyone (as she should) is Nicola Coughlan, who’s known for playing one of season three’s leading ladies Penelope Featherington. During the show’s press tour, Nicola was spotted wearing the perfect dress that incorporated both the Regency aesthetic whilst still being chic and modern.

Nicola’s exact dress was the Sleeper Aurora Maxi Dress, which you can get your hands on for £483 here after it was reduced from its usual price of £635, saving you more than £150. Although Nicola’s exact version, which featured a black bodice and pink skirt, has sold out, the all-black option is still readily available in all sizes – and it’s perfect for a chic occasionwear look this summer.

The dress features a soft jersey long sleeved top that hugs your figure, whilst the voluminous skirt and floral appliqué are made from a polyester crepe taffeta. The combination of the low key long sleeve T-shirt-style top paired with the dramatic full bodied skirt is what gives the dress the perfect balance of Regency-inspired and modern, so you don’t end up looking like you’re wearing a costume.

The delicate floral rosette at the hip helps gather the skirt into folds while creating a subtle thigh slit that makes walking easier as well as baring a little skin. It also features a V-shaped drop waistband that creates a flattering silhouette by creating and accentuating curves.

Although Nicola’s dress is perfect for any formal occasions you might have coming your way this year, if you want something a little less bold we’re also a big fan of this Karen Millen Rosette Ponte Jersey Slit Maxi Dress, £83 here (was £119). It has a more sleek, streamlined take on Nicola’s Sleeper dress, with a form fitting bodice and slightly looser flowing maxi skirt, and features three statement flower appliqués on the waist for some subtle drama.

If you’re looking for a more budget-friendly option, the ASOS DESIGN Oversized Corsage Halter Maxi Dress With Low Back In Black, £48 here, is a great alternative. It keeps the formal vibe with a long maxi length skirt and high neck, but is made from a lightweight jersey material that’s soft, stretchy and comfortable. It also features a large pale pink corsage flower on the neckline for that added Regencycore touch.

Well, Penelope did tell us to share something good!
