Beauty In Black Season 3’s Release Window On Netflix Confirmed By Tyler Perry After Streaming Success

Tyler Perry is bringing back Beauty in Black for another season and recently revealed the release window for Season 3 of the popular Netflix family drama.

In an interview with Sherry Shepard on her eponymous show, Perry, who is the creator, director, and executive producer behind Beauty in Black, shared that season three of the show has already been filmed.

The show follows the successful hair care business started by Mallory (played by Crystle Stewart), but the family is more than what meets the eye in terms of their relationships with one another and how they create their wealth. Stewart’s character is pitted against Kimmie (played by Taylor Polidore), who was trafficked into working at the family-owned strip club, but then climbs the ranks of Mallory’s business through a series of events to secure her and her family’s survival. Beauty In The Black also stars Xavier Smalls (Angel), Ricco Ross (Horace), Terrell Carter (Varney), Steven G. Norfleet (Charles), Charles Malik Whitfield (Jules), Julian Horton (Roy), Debbi Morgan (Olivia), Richard Lawson (Norman), and more.

During the interview, Perry shared that the thought process behind the creation of Beauty in Black was an “ode to his mother” as she enjoyed shows like Dynasty.

Beauty in Black premiered on Netflix in 2024, and the second part of season two hit the streamer on March 19.

In addition to the director sharing what’s next for Beauty in Black, he also gave a sneak preview of what else is on his plate, including a brand new show: Where There’s Smoke. This show, another scripted series from the multi-hyphenate, will follow Black firefighters and has already started production.

The logline for the show reads per IMDB: “Follows a group of firefighters as they navigate the intense challenges of their profession while grappling with personal struggles, fractured relationships, and the emotional toll of saving lives.”

According to the site, the 16-episode series will star Tyler Lepley, Mike Merrill, and Da’Vinchi. While Perry did not share any more information about Where There’s Smoke in the interview, he did say that the firemen will “put out fires,” and like Beauty In The Black, it will also have a home on Netflix.

It’s still unclear exactly when fans will be able to begin streaming season three of Beauty in Black, as Perry vaguely mentioned that the show “will air next year.” Additionally, Perry shared that the third season of Beauty in Black will also be the show’s final season.

Season two of Beauty in Black is out now on Netflix.
