NEED TO KNOW
Wednesday Addams (Jenna Ortega) is back in action in the trailer for part 2 of Wednesday season 2
The trailer sees Gwendoline Christie’s Principal Weems make a return from the dead, and also gives fans their first tease at Lady Gaga’s guest-starring role
Part 2 of Wednesday season 2 premieres Sept. 3 on Netflix
Wednesday Addams is very much alive — even if the surprising return of her dead principal makes her think otherwise.
In the trailer for part 2 of Wednesday season 2, Wednesday (Jenna Ortega) wakes up in a hospital bed with none other than Principal Weems (Gwendoline Christie) as her nurse.
It’s a shocking sight for Wednesday, considering Weems was killed in the season 1 finale. “What ring of hell is this?” she asks.
“This isn’t hell, but I understand the confusion,” Weems tells her. “I’m your new spirit guide. Surprise!”
Having Weems as her new spirit guide seems to be causing more chaos in Wednesday’s life than it is helping.
“Tyler’s still out there,” Wednesday says of the teen whom she accidentally freed from Willow Hill in the part 1 finale. “He has plans to kill both of us.”
“Fix it? You’re the reason he escaped,” Enid (Emma Myers) responds.

“She’s got a point,” Weems, in ghost form, tells Wednesday, who tells her to “stay out of this.”
The comment leaves Enid confused, as she can’t see Wednesday’s spirit guide, but Wednesday shuts her down when she asks, “Who are you talking to?”
“No one,” she says matter-of-factly.

She wants her family to “unburden” themselves and finally tell her the truth.
“We don’t solve anything in this family with words,” Wednesday says. “We do it with deeds — most of them dirty.”
Though her mother, Morticia (Catherine Zeta-Jones), tells her, “Every family has dark chapters, Wednesday,” she doesn’t seem convinced, and instead implores her mom and dad (Luis Guzmán) to give her some answers.
“A life hangs in the balance,” she tells them.

“If you don’t hurry, you’ll have nothing left to save,” Weems warns Wednesday, emphasizing just how much is at risk.
As the trailer ends, fans got their first hint at what Lady Gaga’s appearance in this season will entail.
“Beware. There will be a price to pay,” Lady Gaga’s character says in an eerie voiceover.
Nothing about what her appearance will consist of was confirmed in the trailer, but it marked her debut in the Wednesday world.

She is confirmed to appear as a guest star in the second batch of season 2, per a post on X from Netflix. The Grammy winner, 39, will play “Rosaline Rotwood – a legendary Nevermore teacher who crosses paths with Wednesday.”
There was a dramatic performance to reveal her involvement in the upcoming episodes at Netflix’s Tudum in May. She performed a medley of “Zombieboy” mixed with the Addams family theme, “Bloody Mary” and “Abracadabra.”
The performance was a “surprise” even to Ortega, 22, who told PEOPLE, “I think I found out maybe the night before, and we didn’t know, we didn’t have time to rehearse or understand anything.”
“It was just something that Gaga had reached out, and she just called me. So it was very exciting. [She’s] one of the greatest performers, dare I say of all time.”
She added of her costar, “She’s such a legend and such a powerhouse. Just an incomparable force. So to be able to sit at a dinner table and do nothing and watch her up close — what a gift.”
Part 2 of Wednesday season 2 premieres Sept. 3 on Netflix.
