BRIDGERTON SEASON 4 IS COMING — AND THE MASQUERADE BEGINS
Netflix just dropped a TEASER that has fans losing their minds, promising scandal, secrets, and romance hidden behind velvet masks. This season raises the stakes — and the passion — like never before.
With TWO RELEASE DATES revealed and whispers of shocking new pairings, Bridgerton Season 4 might be the most seductive and dramatic chapter yet.
With the release date comes a new teaser, narrated by Julie Andrews, reprising her voiced role of Lady Whistledown, along with new images that give fans a preview of the upcoming season. The inciting incident is, of course, the masquerade ball mentioned at the end of Season 3. There, just as in the books, is where Benedict will meet the Lady in Silver (Sophie behind a mask). When she leaves her glove behind, it sends Benedict on a journey of hoping, wishing, and praying to find her.
‘Bridgerton’ Season 4 Will Be the Most Faithful Adaptation Yet
During the Season of Love event that gave fans their first real taste of the chemistry between Ha and Thompson, showrunner Jess Brownwell also chimed in on what fans can expect in Season 4. While each season of Bridgerton has carried the spirit of the other three books adapted, The Duke and I, The Viscount Who Loved Me, and Romancing Mister Bridgerton, Brownwell says that Season 4 will be the most faithful so far. Brownwell explained:
“It really lends itself to adaptation, just plot-wise. Yeah, I think it’s very similar. Of course, some smaller things have changed. Character motivation, especially Benedict’s, is quite different from the book, in that Luke Thompson brings this wonderful sensitivity and self-awareness to the character. In Benedict’s story of trying to woo Sophie, I think the character is a bit more delicate and thoughtful, perhaps, in the way he goes about it.”
Bridgerton Season 4, Part 1 premieres January 29. View the teaser above, as well as the new images and poster below. Stay with Collider for the latest updates.
