Prince AndrewĀ was not faithful toĀ Sarah FergusonĀ during the first year of their marriage, a new book claims.

Andrew, now 65, slept with ā€œmore than a dozen women before their first anniversary,ā€ the Duke of York’s former driver claimed in an excerpt fromĀ Andrew Lownie’s upcoming bookĀ Entitled, published by theĀ Daily Mail.

ā€œSarah discovered Andrew wasn’t coming home on some of his leave. He was going elsewhere — and this just drove her crazy,ā€ the driver cited as a royal source shared in the book, according to the same excerpt. ā€œShe didn’t like the fact she was a shore widow, and to discover she was shore-widowed intentionally really hurt.ā€

It was also alleged in the book that there was one year where Andrew only spent 42 days at home.

Andrew tied the knot with Ferguson in July 1986. They were married for a decade before getting divorced in May 1996. Despite their divorce, Andrew and Ferguson have stayed close. They were photographed together on Monday, August 4, days after details from this book were released. (The former couple share daughtersĀ Princess Beatrice, 36, andĀ Princess Eugenie, 35.)Ā

The book claims that Andrew and Ferguson’s marriage was full of highs and lows. Ferguson’s psychic healer recalled her saying that Andrew is ā€œjust not strong enough,ā€ and claimed he was ā€œnever there when I need him,ā€ according to the book. (The book also discussed Ferguson’s alleged affair withĀ Steve Wyatt.)

The Guardian also shared further claims from the book. It’s alleged that Andrew had ā€œmore than 10 [women] a dayā€ entering his Bangkok hotel room during one trip.Ā

The book further alleged that Andrew andĀ Prince HarryĀ previously got into a physical altercation, which theĀ Duke of Sussex denied in a statementĀ toĀ Us Weekly.

Andrew lost his royal title and became a disgraced member of the royal family in 2019 amid an ongoing scandal surrounding his connection with the lateĀ Jeffrey Epstein. (Epstein died by suicide at age 66 in August 2019.)

At the time, the lateĀ Virgina GiuffreĀ accused Andrew and Epstein of sexual assault. He denied any wrongdoing in aĀ now-infamous 2019 interview with BBC’sĀ Newsnight. Andrew claimed during the sit-down that he had no memory of meeting Giuffre, despite there being a photo of them together.

Giuffre later filed a lawsuit against Andrew in 2021. TheyĀ settled the following year outside of court for an undisclosed amount of money. Giuffre died by suicide at age 41 in April.

Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of YorkĀ is set to be released on August 14.
