2 more arrests made in connection with shooting at Jefferson County party

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ala. (WBRC) – The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office says two more people have been charged in connection with a shooting that happened at a party in Jefferson County.

Silay McCay, 21, and Hunter McCullouch, 19, are charged with third-degree assault. Both have bonded out of the Jefferson County Jail. District Attorney Danny Carr says the assault charges against McCay and McCullouch are in connection to an assault on Steven Whitehead who is charged with murder and three counts of attempted murder. He remains in the Jefferson County Jail.

McCay was injured in the Oct. 19 shooting at a place called “The Pit” on Highway 75 North in Pinson.

The shooting claimed the life of 18-year-old Kimber Mills and injured several others.

A preliminary investigation indicates a verbal and physical altercation escalated and resulted in gunfire.
