Netflix has officially set a release date for Roommates, the latest comedy venture from Adam Sandler’s Happy Madison Productions. The cast is a mix of Happy Madison regulars, comedy legends, and rising stars. Leading the film are Sadie Sandler (Devon) and Chloe East (Celeste).
Sadie Sandler was actually finishing her freshman year at NYU in real life during the film’s pre-production. “If you don’t even know who you are yet, how can you have a stable relationship?” Sandler told Teen Vogue regarding the film’s central conflict.

Filming for Roommates took place primarily in Jersey City, New Jersey. Cameras began rolling on June 24, 2025, and wrapped in mid-August 2025. Local residents spotted production at various locations throughout Hudson County, which served as the backdrop for the fictional university campus.
