The Bridgerton star, 31, was photographed with dancer Antonia Roumelioti on Wednesday, June 12 following the Netflix series’ midseason premiere in London.

Newton and Roumelioti were seen leaving the afterparty, held at 180 Strand, hand-in-hand. The dancer sported a backless, floor-length, aqua dress as the actor wore black dress pants with a yellow button-down over a white tank top.

Wednesday’s premiere marks the first time the pair have been photographed together, though fans began speculating about a potential romance following the Bridgerton premiere in New York City in May. Roumelioti posted a series of mirror selfies on her Instagram, tagging Manhattan as the location, four days after the premiere, fueling rumors that she had been by Newton’s side on the big night. However, she was never officially photographed.

The relationship news comes amid a plethora of fan theories that he is dating his costar, Nicola Coughlan.

Last month, PEOPLE confirmed that the actors are “just friends,” despite their strong on-screen chemistry as love interests Colin Bridgerton and Penelope Featherington in the latest season – and their affectionate nature in public.

A source close to Newton and Coughlan, 37, said they were “supportive co-stars for each other” but “are not dating.”

Newton is not the only Bridgerton star whose relationship has made headlines recently. Phoebe Dynevor — who led the first season as Daphne Bridgerton alongside Regé-Jean Page’s Simon Basset — is engaged to Cameron Fuller, and she debuted the relationship update in style at the 2024 Met Gala as she sported a diamond ring on her ring finger.

Dynevor, 29, and Fuller, 28, were first seen together in April 2023 – the first time she’d been seen out with a love interest since her split from Pete Davidson — as they walked around London and showed off some major PDA.

In February, they made their first official appearance as a couple at the EE BAFTA Film Awards Dinner in London, and have rarely stepped out together since.

Following Dynevor’s engagement ring debut at the Met Gala, Fuller posted a photo on Instagram showing his fiancée’s shock and happiness at the proposal.

“💘,” he captioned the shot, which saw him standing behind the actress on a balcony with his arms wrapped around her waist as she covered her mouth in surprise.
