Prince Harry will receive increased security after the “harrowing” car chase when he returns to New York in September

Prince Harry is returning to the Big Apple.

The Duke of Sussex’s visit to New York City next month will coincide with UN General Assembly High-level Week and Climate Week, The Post can confirm.

However, the trip will be a solo venture for the royal as his wife Meghan Markle, 43, will stay put in Montecito, Calif., with their two children.

Harry, 39, will be in the Big Apple to “advance a number of his patronages and philanthropic initiatives,” his rep said, adding that the father of two will be busy with engagements with African Parks, The HALO Trust, The Diana Award, and Travalyst.

He will also be “furthering the work of The Archewell Foundation, the nonprofit organization he co-founded with his wife Meghan, The Duchess of Sussex,” his rep told The Post in a statement.

While details about Harry’s upcoming trip remain scarce, the duke is set to receive additional security following his and Markle’s so-called “near catastrophic” paparazzi car chase through Manhattan in May 2023.

Harry and Markle found themselves at the center of a high-speed pursuit after leaving the Ziegfeld Theater in Midtown with Markle’s mother following an event.

The trio were tailed by paparazzi who were unable to get any shots of the famous couple as they left the venue.

Soon after, a representative for the pair claimed they “were involved in a near catastrophic car chase at the hands of a ring of highly aggressive paparazzi.”

However, law enforcement sources described a much less dramatic ordeal, saying the chase only lasted about one hour as the family switched to a yellow cab to try to get the paps off their trail.

The Sussexes ultimately didn’t file any charges over the ordeal, but the NYPD announced last year that the pair receive heightened security during their trips to the Big Apple.

In a letter addressed to London’s Metropolitan Police, the NYPD intelligence chief wrote that the police force will be “enhancing the security resources afforded to the Duke and Duchess on future visits to the city.”

Harry’s trip also coincides with his estranged brother Prince William’s annual Earthshot Prize Innovation Summit, which is also slated to take place on Sept. 24.

While it’s unclear if William, 42, will attend this year’s summit, the heir to the throne did appear last year.

The future king was in full incognito mode during a morning run through Central Park. So much so, that no one noticed it was him.

Should the feuding brothers make an appearance in NYC at the same time, it’s likely that they will not acknowledge each other’s presence.

A palace source recently told The Sunday Times that the siblings hadn’t spoken in “two years,” with their last conversation reportedly taking place in Sept. 2022 at Queen Elizabeth’s funeral.

Harry’s upcoming visit will be his first in the Big Apple following his Oct. 2023 trip for the Archewell Foundation Parents’ Summit: Mental Wellness in a Digital Age.

The summit took place just months after the Sussexes were involved in a car chase through Manhattan.
