Chiefs Coach’s Wife Makes Unexpected Admission About Taylor Swift
While giving back at a Raising Cane’s event before Christmas, Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid’s wife, Tammy Reid, took a moment to share her thoughts on Taylor Swift, and the comparison she made caught attention.
The Reids have known Swift since long before her relationship with Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce made her a regular fixture at games.
On Thursday, Tammy said Swift’s down-to-earth demeanor reminds her of the closest person she could have ever mentioned.
“Taylor is just the girl next door,” Tammy said. “She’s just a regular person that is super famous. Kinda like my husband!”
Tammy also acknowledged that their relationship with the pop star goes back to their days in Philadelphia nearly two decades ago, when Reid was coaching the Eagles.
“We met Taylor back in Philly maybe 20 years ago… and have kept in touch ever since,” Tammy said. “She’s a good person.”
Despite Swift’s global fame these days, Tammy said her personality hasn’t changed. She noted they have more in common than people might expect, including doing the most casual things.
“Taylor is just the girl next door,” Tammy said. “We have a lot in common, she needlepoints, she bakes, she cooks, she’s made pop-tarts for coach and some of the players.”

When asked about Swift and Kelce’s wedding date, Tammy replied only, “I do not have the save-the-date.” Andy Reid has also praised Swift publicly multiple times. Speaking to People’s Skyler Caruso in August, the Chiefs coach said, “She’s a good girl, first of all. Might be the most famous lady in the world right now since the queen has passed away.”
The Chiefs were eliminated from postseason contention on Dec. 14 after their loss to the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 15, breaking a seven-year streak of making it to the AFC Championship Game.
Kansas City faces the Las Vegas Raiders in their final game of the regular season, scheduled for Sunday at 4:25 p.m. ET on ESPN.
