Disappointing News About âHis And Hersâ Season 2

A great cast, a great mystery and stellar performance? Sounds like a recipe for a season 2 of His and Hers, the new Netflix murder series.
Unfortunately, almost certainly not. Despite being a clear success for Netflix, it seems the limited series is going to stay limited from everything we know, or everything we donât. Hereâs the bottom line that is almost certain to stay the bottom line:
His and Hers is pitched as a limited series, and though those can turn not limited, you need to be wildly beloved or watched for that to happen, a-la-The White Lotus or Shogun. His and Hers, even if itâs doing well, is not either of those.
His and Hers is based on a book by Alice Feeney, which is not part of a series and has no sequel. Sheâs written no other books starring these specific characters, so this would have to be written entirely from scratch for a future season.
The cast is busy. Jon Bernthal is deep into Marvel-land with three upcoming projects, his Punisher special, a role in Daredevil: Born Again season 2, and to the surprise of everyone, a part in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Plus, heâs in Christopher Nolanâs The Odyssey, and who knows, he may show up in a The Bear episode or two next season. Tessa Thompson may have more Marvel time as well coming up, and sheâs reportedly going to be in the upcoming Creed IV.

There are zero indicators from the cast or crew that a season 2 is coming. Often in the wake of successful shows, even miniseries, you will hear the showrunners or actors talking about âwell, Iâd love to returnâ or âthere are some ideasâ for another season. None of that here. I cannot find a single comment of that nature from anyone involved.
Then thereâs the show itself. If youâve seen the show, the mystery is fully unfurled, and there do not seem to be many open doors for these characters to return in any capacity, given the ending of the series, as that would be twisting their arcs bizarrely.
While some series may be a bit more likely than others to return for a second season, despite being a miniseries, His and Hers is not one of them. Having seen the show, I definitely think thatâs for the best, and even if you like it, I doubt many people will be demanding a second season, even if they want to know whether one will exist. Youâll be able to find these actors in great projects elsewhere, however.
