Luke Thompson might be tight-lipped when it comes to confirming whether or not his character Benedict will be the focus of Bridgerton Season 4 — but he certainly became flustered when Sara Haines asked him the burning question on this morning’s episode of The View.
Thompson appeared alongside his co-star Golda Rosheuvel on the long-running daytime talk show, where Haines wondered if the hit Netflix series would hone in on Benedict in its next season.
“How dare you ask me such personal questions!” Thompson cheekily fired back, while Rosheuvel chimed in, “I’m just gonna sip my tea.”
For those who don’t know, each season of the romance series follows a different Bridgerton sibling’s steamy love story. While Julia Quinn’s books on which the show is based would’ve put Thompson front-and-center for Season 3, producers opted to skip over his story for the time being and focus on Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton) and Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) instead.
However, show creator Chris Van Dusen has confirmed his hopes to make eight seasons of Bridgerton, meaning Thompson will get his day in the sun eventually — it’s just a matter of when.

“The honest answer is I don’t know,” Thompson told The View co-hosts. “But I know that it’s so lovely that one of the best things about a TV job is you get to really explore a character long-form like that to fill him in slowly. So as long as I keep getting to do that.”
He added, “Obviously, it would be really great to dive in at one point but we’ll have to wait and see!”
While details surrounding Season 4 are being kept under wraps, showrunner Jess Brownell previously teased that fans will have a better idea about who the next season will follow by the end of Season 3, Part 2, which will drop on Netflix on June 13.
“I won’t give you anything, but I do think that there are some clues at the end of Season 3 of where we’re headed,” Brownell told TV Insider. “I leave that to fans to pick apart, but I think we’re tipping our hand just a little bit.”
