A source dubbed Markle “smart” for her effort to shift the focus because she knew “Harry’s comments stirred up a storm.” They believe her birthday tribute post “wasn’t just about love,” but an attempt at “changing the narrative” and refocusing the “spotlight back to their marriage” instead of his “feud with the royals.”
On Monday, the Duchess took to Instagram to drop a flirty remark for the Duke of Sussex. In the post, she shared a throwback photo of him from before they had met. PEOPLE reported that it dates back to Harry’s 31st birthday, when he visited Goodwood Aerodrome to mark the 75th Anniversary of the Battle of Britain. The caption said, “Oh hi, Birthday Boy” with a fire emoji.
